Coffee Health News
It appears that the more coffee you drink the better it is for your health!
I came very close in replacing our Drip, "V" shaped basket, paper filtered coffee maker with a stainless steel
percolator - the kind that my Mom & Dad had "back in the days" - until I read enough
"coffee brewing facts" on the web site below. It appears that we have one of the best type brewers. So I will
get a new pot for $10 & use what we already have!
Examples of facts I found on this site:
- "V" shaped basket is better than flat bottomed basket.
- Non-paper filtered coffee - such as the percolator - contains the bean oils which add to LDL and total
cholesterol into the blood! The paper filter actually traps the oils. Of course we all know that the brown
paper is better because the white has chlorine residue which then your kidney and liver have to deal with -
right!
- Also percolators 'over-cook' the grounds and a bitter coffee is the result.
- Coffee & Prostate
Drinking coffee may lower the risk of developing the deadliest form of prostate cancer, according to a Harvard Medical School study.
- Coffee & Liver
Researchers in the United States have found another good reason to go to the local espresso bar: several cups of coffee a day could halt the progression of liver disease . . .
- Coffee - More Helpful or Harmful
According to the World Health Organization (WHO) three to four million people contract hepatitis C each year. Overall, research has shown that coffee is more helpful than harmful. Some of these studies include the Annals of Internal Medicine research on diabetes and the University of Bristol’s study on cognitive mood.
